how it works

built on what children actually do.

A teacher sees a child share, help, tell the truth or care for a plant. Thirty seconds later it’s recorded and the child earns Goodness Points. Over a semester, those moments show who they are becoming.

goodness points

two numbers, the same everywhere

Mohanji set the values for every school. Teachers and schools never choose the amounts, so a point means the same thing in every classroom.

5

a week of harmony

Every child earns 5 for a week without harming anyone. The teacher confirms the class once a week. A child who hurt someone isn’t confirmed that week, and the counselor follows up.

10

an act of goodness

Every witnessed act, in any of the 21 categories. There’s no ceiling, and points are never taken away for being quiet.

badges and the class tree

badges mark what a child does, not their rank

Seven domains, 21 categories, with examples for every age from 4 to 18. Badges are earned per category, in the spirit of the Scouts.

when a child causes harm

the way back is always open

Deductions are small and proportionate. Every one has a way back, and restoration returns exactly the points that were taken. Deductions are private, shown in a neutral colour, and never used as labels.

  1. 01

    a complaint is checked

Only after a complaint is made and checked.

  2. 02

    a small deduction

Recorded only by the head of school.

  3. 03

    a way back

An apology, a repair, or a week of helping the person harmed.

  4. 04

    points restored

The exact points taken come back. Both entries stay, privately.
