Help and guides

Welcome

Help and guides for The Goodness Factor, for everyone at a school and for families.

The Goodness Factor is Mohanji's program for teaching and rewarding goodness in school. A teacher sees an act of goodness and writes it down in thirty seconds. The child has ten points. A peaceful week earns five. The family sees their own child's record the same day. Nobody is ranked, nothing about a child is published, and nobody chooses an amount.

These pages explain the app, screen by screen, for each person who uses it. Pick your path.

The program in one paragraph

Goodness is taught from the first years of school, then noticed and rewarded. The acts of goodness are a catalog of twenty-one things a child can do for someone or something else, with examples for every age. Only the teacher who saw an act records it. Points are fixed. Once a week the teacher confirms a peaceful week for every child who harmed no one. When a child does harm, the head of the school records a small deduction after a complaint has been checked, the counselor walks the way back with the child, and the points come back when the repair is made. A review board answers every question within fourteen days. The record is never edited, and each night it is fingerprinted and timestamped where nobody can touch it.
