The names
The guide's words and the app's words, side by side, so nothing is lost between them.
Mohanji's guide and the app describe the same program. The app keeps the guide's words wherever a screen allows it; where a button needs something shorter, this table bridges the two.
| In the guide | In the app | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| The head of the school | Admin | The principal, and anyone the head names; the only role that deducts |
| The counselor | Counselor | Knows every child; runs the way back |
| The teacher | Teacher | Records what they see in their own classes |
| The family | The family view | A parent or guardian who sees their own child's record |
| An act of goodness | An act, a kind of goodness | What a teacher records: ten points, one leaf |
| A peaceful week | Harmony week | A week in which a child harmed no one: five points |
| The record | Activity, History | Every entry, newest first, never edited |
| The way back | Way back | Talk, Encourage, Correct; a consequence only if needed |
| The repair | Restoration | What was undone and what good was done; the points come back |
| A complaint, given and checked | "I have checked this complaint myself" | The head's confirmation on the deduction form |
| The review board | Review | Appeals, concerns and flags, answered within fourteen days |
| The circle | The week's circle | The class's few minutes on Friday |
| The class tree | The classroom screen | Every act a leaf; the display for the projector |
| Recognition | This month, Goodness contributors | Every child recognized this month, read at assembly |
| The certificate | Goodness Record certificate | A child's period in print, with a code anyone can check |
| The focus of the week | This week | The act the lessons point at |
| The record's integrity | Integrity check, daily fingerprints | Proof that nothing was changed |
Words the app never uses
Users, scores, profiles, IDs, ledgers, platforms, leaderboards. Children are children, staff are people with a role, and the record is the record. If you see one of those words anywhere in the app, tell us through the contact page.
The age bands
| Band | Ages | US grades |
|---|---|---|
| Seeds | 4 to 7 | PreK to 2 |
| Sprouts | 8 to 11 | Grades 3 to 5 |
| Saplings | 12 to 14 | Grades 6 to 8 |
| Trees | 15 to 18 | Grades 9 to 12 |
A class belongs to one band, which chooses the examples the record screen shows. The youngest classes can run as "good practices only" with no points until the school turns them on.
