For the head of the school

Privacy and data

What is stored about a child, who sees it, what is never published, and what happens when a child leaves.

The school owns its data. The Goodness Factor hosts it and processes it on the school's behalf, with no analytics, no ads and no trackers on any page. The full statement is the privacy policy; this page is the short version for the person who answers families' questions.

What is stored about a child

  • The name as shown, the class, and optionally a date of birth, a gender, a student number and a photo seen only by the school's staff.
  • Every entry: the act or the peaceful week, the teacher's words, the date, who entered it, the points.
  • A deduction, its note (seen by the admins and the counselor only), the steps of the way back (the counselor and the head only), and the repair.
  • Consent for the family view: the date, how it was given, who recorded it.

Who sees what

Sees
The child's teachersThe acts, words, points and peaceful weeks for their classes; that a way back is open
The counselor and the headEverything about every child
The familyTheir own child's record: acts, words, points, peaceful weeks, a deduction with its repair
Other families, other childrenNothing
The publicThe school's daily fingerprints and a certificate's counts by its code; never a name
The classroom screenFirst names, leaves, the focus of the week, badges; never a total or a deduction

What is never published

A child's name on any public page. A ranking of any kind. A deduction outside the child's own record. A counselor's note outside the counselor and the head.

The family's address

A parent's email address is used to send one invitation and to sign in. It goes nowhere else.

When a child leaves

Mark it on the child's page under Photo and profile. The child stops appearing on lists, screens and the month's recognition. Their entries stay in the record exactly as written, because nothing is ever deleted from it; the chain and the fingerprints depend on that. The family's view closes: their page says the child has left and shows no entries. "Show children who left the school" under Students finds the record again.

Where it is hosted

In the United States today, or in the school's own country where its law requires it. Ask through the contact page before a pilot if your school needs the second.
